How do I teach Sourdough Live?

the class is made of 4 Parts

Step 1
The Starter 101

Learn how to spot the real from the fake. With pantry swap charts, guidance on organic vs. conventional, and thoughtful questions to consider, you’ll have the tools to decide what fits your values, your budget, and how you want to feel. It’s about awareness, not rules so you’re always the one making the choice.

Let's debunk anything getting in your way. We quickly talk about what's Sourdough is, why you need to keep a starter alive, and how to work this process easily into your life, so you can bake when you have time to.

Step 2

Make Dough with Me Live!

Have your ingredients and mix right along with us in Zoom. We get started mixing right away to allow it time to go from shaggy to starting to look like dough. This way you can show me your dough, your stretch and fold methods all live with support.

Step 3

You have the Next Steps for Baking.

Find inspiration without rigid recipes. With templates for 9 everyday whole foods and 6 cooking techniques (only 3 use actual heat!), you’ll have ideas you can adapt to what’s in season, on sale, local, or simply what you’re craving. It’s about freedom and confidence in the kitchen, not following rules to the letter.

Sourdough takes time to bulk ferment. That happens in your kitchen once we're off our call. You leave with clear next steps. Before we get off the call I'll show you how to shape your dough and get it in the oven.

Step 4
Always Bake!

Bake your bread and learn from the process. Sourdough is a relationship: more of an art, not a science. Every house is different. Make this process YOURS.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs – Everything You Need to Know Before Class

Is the Alive in Your Hands Sourdough booklet included with the class?

Not included, but here's what is: a one-page Next Steps worksheet so you leave class knowing exactly what to do next and in what order.

The booklet is a different entity that teaches you sourdough. Some people just need a class. Some need a guide that lives on their counter as they get used to making dough, not your phone. 52 glossy pages of everything a beginner needs to reference mid-bake without getting dough on your screen. If you want a guide at your fingertips before, during, and long after class, grab it in the Shop before you register. A lot of students do both and honestly, it makes the class easier. You'll already know the language. Grab the Booklet here →

How do I get the Zoom link?

You'll receive it by email 48 hours before class. Check your spam folder if it doesn't show. Still nothing? Reply to your confirmation text / email: [email protected] or DM me at @healthcoachkel.

What do I need to bring to class?

An active, bubbly starter 🫙. Bread flour, salt, and water. A bowl and spoon. That's it. No fancy equipment required. Seriously, after 2 years I still do not use a banneton basket.

What if my starter isn't ready or active in time?

Come anyway. 🤓 You'll get the replay and everything you need to bake on your own timeline. Listening and learning are key here. The class will still make sense even if your hands aren't in dough yet.

What if I can't attend live?

Register anyway. The replay is included with every ticket.

Is there a cancelation Policy?

A 48-hour cancellation notice is required for a refund. * FOR ONLINE EVENTS: We record and send replays, if you'd like to keep your class pass and watch later.
